One initial idea I had was a set of Augmented Reality, or Direct Retinal Display glasses for people with several medical conditions. This could highlight when to take medication, or remind them about doctors appointments. (also useful for amnesia and people who have no long term memory) However, this was rejected due to several issues. These were:
- These would be aimed possibly at the elderly, who already may wear glasses.
- There are other, more simple devices available which at as reminders, such as phones, diaries, watches etc.
The other, main idea was an AR (Augmented Reality) interactive portfolio. This could be used and act as a novel way of showcasing work. Aimed at professionals who work with 3D software (so applicable to modellers, as well as architecture, animators and possibly video editors).
An interesting idea, but as a current tech idea, it is currently lacking something. Some novel form of interaction would help this to move forward (such as audio etc).
More on this when I either add to this idea, or change it.
